Meet Gail

Hey Mamas, Happy #MomshareMonday! Are you ready to read mom stories and learn about how mamas like yourself cope with obstacles we may face?! Then, Keep reading!

My name is Gail Hinkson, a mom of 2. I have a 10 year old and an almost 1year old. I had my children 10years apart. I found out I was pregnant shortly after our wedding. It was a pleasant surprise. However, I did not think it would be so hard the second time around. It was really starting over. We do get a lot of support from our parents. I was completing my masters degree last year while pregnant. I walked the stage at 9months. I have been a full time teacher and student since my first child was born. I try to balance a busy life of a 10yr old and busy body of a toddler boy and make time for myself and my husband. It’s not easy.

Gail was asked some questions that most moms face and here is what she had to say.

As a mom how do you overcome challenging moments with two kids?!

Having two grandmothers who spoil our kids help take the load off during difficult times. My mother who had 3kids is always talking to me about my parenting in a manner where I can accept her opinions. It’s not an easy task and having people you trust helping you is always a plus.

What is something you have learned about yourself after becoming a mom?!

Being a mom is one of the most rewarding and difficult task I have ever had. My children are 10years apart and they both have their own needs from me. I have learned that you must spend time with your child/children. It’s more important than anything. Being consistent is very important for children at a young age. This helps mold them into whatever individuals your family want to see.

What advice would you give a new mom or mom to be feeling overwhelmed and seeking ways to help balance #momlife?!

Find someone you can talk to. Make time for yourself in some kind of way. Even if it’s in the bathroom. If mom is not ok, nobody is okay. I’m actually dealing with this currently. If you don’t have family or friends, then join a group with other moms. We can all help in our own little ways. Having a friend that understands is very important.
