Meet Twin Mama TuWana

Happy #MomshareMonday want to know what it likes raising twins?! Meet this beautiful twin mama!!

Hi, I’m TuWana the founder of Moms Who Mingle and a twin mom to boy girl twins Jariyah & Jessiah. My journey through motherhood has not always been easy. I gave birth to my twins at 25 weeks it was one of the scariest moments of my life.. after 2 months in the NICU the twins finally came home and have been thriving ever since. I went through postpartum and tried to tell myself over and over this just can’t be happening. I tried to smile and handle everything on my own and in that moment i created Moms Who Mingle. Moms Who Mingles mission is to bring moms together to connect and know it’s ok not to be ok . We’ve all been there and we all understand sometimes as moms the best support system you can have is another mom.

TuWana was asked a few questions about being a twin mama and this is what she had to say.

1.As a mom how do you overcome challenging moments with twins?!

As a mom of twins the most challenging part was remembering they are 2 different people. Yes, they share a birthday but they are completely different. What worked for one didn’t work for the other. I really had to sit back and learn my children and just see how they react to what’s going on. I expected them to be the same in everything when in reality that was not the case .

2. What is something you have learned about yourself after becoming a mom?!

After becoming a mom i learned that i’m stronger than i thought . I’ve learned the true meaning of strength.

3. What advice would you give a new mom or mom to be feeling overwhelmed and seeking ways to help balance #momlife?!

My advice to new moms or any mom is take time for yourself. we get so wrapped up in our children that we forget about ourselves. you can’t pour in to your children from an empty cup . Take that time to put you first .
